Firearms Applicant Procedures
Those Residents of
Bordentown Township desiring to apply for a permit to purchase a
handgun, and/or a firearms purchaser I.D. card can pick up the
appropriate forms at the Bordentown Township Police Department form the
dispatcher on duty.
Once the forms are
completed they can be returned to the police department on Monday
through Friday between the hours of 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
Note:
An applicant for a permit to purchase a hand gun who possesses a valid
firearms purchaser I.D. card, or who was previously fingerprinted and
obtained a permit to purchase a handgun from the Bordentown Twp. Police
Department, and who provides other reasonable proof of his/her identity,
need not to be fingerprinted when turning in their paperwork, thereby
eliminating a waiting period, and the $49.00 fingerprint processing fee.
All other applicants (not
previously fingerprinted, as above) will need to be fingerprinted when
they turn in their paperwork. The fingerprint processing fee of $49.00
will have to be tendered at this along with the appropriate fees for
which they are applying for:
Firearms Purchaser I.D.

Each Permit to purchaser a
handgun....................................... $2.00
Special Notes:
Those residents that have moved into Bordentown Twp., and have firearms
I.D. Card issued in another municipality, should pick up a form to
change their address.

Synopsis:
There are federal firearms laws and in addition every state has their
own firearms laws. Not every police officer keeps up with these
laws and the changes in these laws. Any specific questions should be
